That's a wrap to the first day's play. England have put themselves in a commanding position but cannot afford to relax. As Joe Root mentioned, they would be looking for a big total in the first innings and for that, they need to bat out at least another couple of sessions. The first ball on Day 2 will be at 9:30 am IST but you can join us early for the build-up.    It was a tough day for the home team, something they are not used to! They stuck to the task in the morning session and were lucky to get a couple of wickets just before Lunch. But after that, it was hard work for them. Bumrah, Ishant and Ashwin fared decently on an unresponsive deck but Nadeem and Sundar were below-par with their efforts. They will be relieved to pick a wicket in the last over and would look to make early inroads in the morning session on Day 2.
